Her Hero is a 3D STEM project for secondary school-aged girls in Croydon, delivered in partnership with Reaching Higher, Aspiring Young Women and ID360. The project offers weekly after-school workshops in a safe space, reducing the risk of involvement in violence and exploitation. Participants engage in discussions about their hopes, concerns and challenges while building supportive relationships with trained, trusted adults.
Over 12 months, participants will embark on a journey to create their own real-life superheroes. Through mentoring, wellbeing support and 3D printing, they will explore key characteristics and traits, reflecting on their aspirations while developing their heroes.
At the end of the programme, the girls will showcase their superheroes and share their journey at a year-end exhibition, which they will organise themselves.
