The British Red Cross Community Resilience Programme aims to build strong and sustainable links between community groups, local authorities and emergency services to improve collaboration before, during and after emergencies.
Resilient communities are better prepared to respond to an emergency (fires, floods, power outages etc.) and recover without long lasting negative impacts. Some of the core elements of community resilience include: engagement, awareness, cooperation, local knowledge, community networks, communication, health, resources.
The FREE online workshops to bring together community, voluntary and faith groups in Croydon to discuss community resilience.
Join one of our workshops to learn and practice how you can, together with other community members and organisations, identify the key concerns affecting your community, explore how community organisations can work more collaboratively and co-produce a plan of action. These workshops are also an opportunity to meet other groups in the area, share your strengths, learnings and any areas you need to support. Groups will also discuss a vision for a resilient Croydon, and help to shape the Community Resilience Programme moving forwards.
